The Mighty Bosco
I wrote this little piece a couple months ago, on the occasion of Bosco Dog joining our family from the rescue in Indiana.
He is a peach and gets along with everyone!
I shared an early version of this song, and now I have practiced it a bit and here is a more finished, if still imperfect, product.
I used the Taylor LKSM tuned down a bit, this is the only song I have done in this particular tuning.
Its another big 12 string with a repaired top that is visibly happier in slacked tuning. Top crack has noticeably abated.
I guess you could say that I run a rescue for 12 strings that spent their earlier life being abused in standard tuning and standard pitch. They have found a home with me where they are all slacked off a step or 3 or 4.
If you use the whole neck up to the very tip top, you can greatly expand the range of the instrument in these lower tunings. You will see me doing that with this song…
