Happy Monday!

The Wendy Music 2/4/24

I wrote this song in the spring or summer of 1982 while I was at the University of VT.
This little song is deceptively simple but it is very challenging to play cleanly because of the chains of portamento glides up and down the neck of the 12 string guitar. You have to work it to get this to be crisp on a 12 string. This technique allows proper voicing of the melody; it would be much more straightforward to play by arranging across the strings with minimal left hand shifts but it wouldn’t be the same song.

I figured out out to use DaVinci Resolve to do multi camera editing, so this is my first attempt at this technique with this software and 3 sources. Archie the Cat works the cameras.

This version is played on a 1992 Taylor 555c that had seen very hard use for the 30 years before it came to me with multiple top cracks, El Kabong dents, a stove in end pin, etc. For all that it is a very sweet sounding guitar.
