I shared a small 2nd floor flat with Glinda, across from Cladiddlehopper’s Mower repair in Burlington, VT. Clem ran a busy mower repair across the alley from our little house. We woke up each day to the happy sounds of small engine repair. The Vermont Air National Guard had a runway within earshot, and on a good day you could have the open throttle sound from the Guard’s F-4s mingling with the mellifluous sound of several Briggs & Stratton devices being revved to maximum RPM.
I wrote Cladiddlehopper’s Mower Repair at this time, its a song I had forgotten about but I relearned in the past few weeks and have practiced a bit to get what you hear on this “take 1”.
The video below was made after 4 hours of teeth grinding and gnashing incident to an upgrade in the audio/video/computing technology used for my music. The video and sound quality is better and I will tinker to dial this in as I go along. Still have to keep practicing – I have a ways to go to recover what I was doing when I played several hours each day.
I hope to take another run at this tomorrow with a better attitude and something in hand to purchase George’s silence…
George and I are getting mangier looking as we go along. I thought about backdating both of us in the photos (me by decades and George by about 5 years), but we opted for the craggy geek look.
