Frenchman’s Bend – Full Take #1, 8/27/25

The video below of the Frenchman’s Bend piece is the first full take I recorded yesterday morning around 8:30 after the sun was well up and the breeze was picking up a little. The playing is rough, I will try again when I have tidied up all the more awkward bits…
Archie and Miss Kitka were introduced together about a month or so ago and while they have their occasional contretemps, they coexist quite amicably in our peaceable kingdom.
The video and audio were shot with an iphone, not the usual set up with standalone audio equipment and multiple cameras. The lead-in video, without guitar (or me), was shot earlier around 5:30 am or so when the sun was just coming up.
Featured is a 1992 Taylor 555c 12 string in an A D A D A D tuning – the low A is 55hz, like a bass guitar A. The octave strings are just what you might expect..
